Exploring the paths created by natural phenomenon and then interpreting and combining them into abstract sculptural forms has been the focus of my recent sculptures. Intrigued by the accretive and fractal imagery shared between organic and natural phenomenon, I create environments with similar dimensionality and movement. A dynamic is achieved through variation of form and strength of line incorporating the effect of the elements. The process is reductive and extensive turning the steel into a fragile malleable structure mimicking the collapse/decay found in nature. An amalgamation of steel, stone and wood conveys a sense of liveliness and a tactile quality in the abstract possibilities of form influenced by nature.
